The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs must be notified of all changes in the status of postdoctoral fellows and visiting research scholars. These changes include
- assignment to a new mentor,
- change in physical location, and
- relocation to a different laboratory.
The faculty mentor is responsible for reporting these changes. The postdoctoral fellow or visiting research scholar experiencing the change may also report their status to the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
If the postdoctoral fellow or visiting research scholar is international, these changes also must be reported to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services. These guidelines are necessary to ensure compliance with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
