The Graduate School oversees all facets of graduate education at Temple University. It is responsible for
- admitting students,
- recommending to the Board of Trustees the awarding of graduate degrees,
- reviewing the qualifications of faculty appointed as graduate faculty,
- overseeing the quality of new and continuing graduate programs, and
- monitoring standards of scholarship and more.
Together with Temple’s Graduate Board, the Graduate School establishes and maintains admissions and degree requirements in consultation with the deans of the schools and colleges. Additionally, the Graduate School administers policies established by the Graduate Board and Temple University.
Through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, Temple engages approximately 400 postdoctoral trainees, research associates and visiting scholars annually in activities that enrich and advance their careers.
